Almonte Heritage Conservation District study – information session & public meeting, March 20 2014
The Mississippi Mills Council and administration are seeking to carry out a Heritage Conservation District Study that would assess the cultural heritage value of downtown Almonte and recommend whether this historic centre should be considered for Heritage Conservation District (HCD) designation under the Ontario Heritage Act.
Watson McEwen Teramura Architects is working on behalf of the Town of Mississippi Mills to undertake this study.
Public input and participation is very important to the success of an HCD study. We invite you to attend a pre-study Information Session and Public Meeting to enable Council to evaluate the interest and support for studying the viability of an HCD. The Information Session & Public Meeting will focus on the following subject areas:
- Introduction of the proposed study area
- Describe the function and purpose of an HCD; how it works; what it can and cannot do
- Explain the activities that will occur during the Study phase
The success of this initiative depends on the time you take to attend this Information Session and Public Meeting. We thank you in advance for your participation.
The Session will be held in the Almonte Old Town Hall Auditorium on:
